F-86E (Sabrejet) Serial Number 523300

Manufactured in 1951 by the Canadair Aircraft Corporation under license from North American Aviation for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Utilized by the RCAF as an air superiority fighter until being surplused to a civilian operator in 1961. This aircraft was subsequently purchased by Flight Systems Inc. at Mojave, California and used in the U.S. Army Aerial Drone Program as a flying target. This aricraft survived several missle hits and was purchased by the Cactus Air Force in 1997 and is now being restored to airworthy condition with extended wing slats. This aircraft is powered by the Orenda 10 Turbojet Engine of 6,500 pounds of thrust and is painted to represent the commanding officers personal aircraft of the 8th Fighter Bomber Wing of the USAF circa 1951 (Korea).
